Even though spiritually we have become a new creation with a “new nature” in addition to our “old nature” .. the baggage from the old nature still hinders our obedience to God. We still have that natural tendency towards sin that resides within our body and soul. It is our spirit which has been transformed and made totally new. Christ now lives in our human spirit in the Person of the Holy Spirit .. and He is actively working to transform our soul. This transformation occurs as our mind is renewed with God’s truth (Rom. 12:1-2) .. our emotions experience some healing .. and our will is being brought into harmony with the will of God. The Holy Spirit of God is changing us from the inside out. Your participation is required – spend time in God’s word and in prayer, and in fellowship with believers who are maturing in their faith.
